WHAT IS MEDIATION?

Mediation is a process of resolving conflict through the use of a neutral 3rd party called a Mediator. The goal of mediation is to come to a mutually agreeable resolution that is created and implemented by both parties.

BENEFITS OF MEDIATION

FAMILY CENTERED

Mediation benefits children and families by effectively reducing conflict. Each family is unique in its’ structure and relationships, requiring a resolution that is unique.

SELF DETERMINED

Mediation allows parties to solely determine and craft their agreement for themselves.

When conflict goes into the court system, the judge ultimately has the power to direct a resolution that may or may not be agreeable to either or both parties.

CONFIDENTIAL

Mediation is a confidential process. There are no public disclosures of financial or personal matters.

COST

Mediation is far less expensive and far more efficient than working through the court system, relieving both parties of both time and large financial burden.

PEACE

Perhaps the most important reason to choose mediation is that it affords parties the opportunity to hear and understand each other’s point of view and to come to a mutually agreeable resolution.
